Year 11 students, most of whom will be 16+, are required to complete a week-long placement on completion of their GCSEs. We are therefore looking for workplaces interested in taking on a student between 22nd June and 17th July 2026. Some students may be available to take up a placement slightly earlier in June or during the school holidays. 

Alumni are a real inspiration to current students and, in the spirit of generosity between Latymerians, we would be really grateful if you could help boost the employability of a current student. Work experience offers Year 11 students a valuable first look at the world of work. It helps them discover their interests, develop confidence, and learn practical skills that can't be gained in the classroom. By working alongside professionals, students build communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities. It also gives them a clearer idea of future career options, helping them make more informed choices about subjects, courses, or apprenticeships. Overall, work experience prepares students for life after school and strengthens their CVs and university applications, giving them a head start in their next steps. 

By hosting a student on placement, you will be supporting a young person on their educational journey and a chance to showcase your industry and perhaps attract future employees and colleagues.
